What is the Algebra 2 Regents Exam?
The Algebra 2 Regents Exam is a standardized New York State multiple-choice and constructed, free-response exam that is given in June upon completion of an Algebra 2 class, which is normally taken during a student’s junior year in high school.

Students who are wishing to graduate from high school with an Advanced Regents diploma are mandated to pass this exam.

This 3-hour mandatory exam measures how well students can use their analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills to answer questions correctly about real-world mathematical problems, as well as topics such as polynomial division and explicit sequences.

Students are allowed to use a graphing calculator for the duration of the exam.
The Algebra 2 Regents Exam is divided into 4 different parts:
Part 1 contains
multiple-choice questions
Each question is worth 2 points.
Each question will have 4 answer choices.
No partial credit will be given for incorrect answers.
Part 2 contains
free-response questions
Each question is worth 2 points.
No answer choices are provided for this section.
Partial credit may be given for incorrect answers.
Part 3 contains

How is the Algebra 2 Regents Exam scored?

Partial credit will be distributed among the three free-response sections and the accumulation of these scores plus the multiple-choice section will be regarded as the student’s total score, which will be converted to a scale score that ranges from 0 – 100. This will be the student’s overall score of the Algebra 2 Regents Exam.
Receiving the highest Performance Level on the Algebra 2 Regents Exam corresponds to scoring an 85-100.

Learning principles that we stand by

Each student has a unique learning style
We understand that everyone learns differently. That's why we tailor our lessons to meet the specific needs of each individual student.

Learn how to think, not what to think
During their academic career, students may fall into the habit of memorizing facts as their primary method of learning. However, this does not allow students to think for themselves. Instead, we constantly challenge our students in a way that requires them to think and formulate their own decisions, leading to intellectual growth.

Nothing great is achieved without commitment
Mastery does not happen overnight. It requires hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to lifelong learning. We help our students maintain their commitment throughout their academic journey.

Grades are the result, not the goal
We focus on something more important than just getting a certain grade on a transcript or report card. Our goal is to provide our students with an interdisciplinary understanding that will help them perform better both in and out of the classroom.
